Your journey to
better hearing

is worth every step.

In all our years of helping people hear better, we’ve never heard someone say: “I wish I had waited”. In fact, the opposite is true. Here are the steps to get you well on your way to your best hearing experience.

Step 1:
Talk to your audiologist or doctor

Ask about the possibility of an implant. Your audiologist will be able to determine whether you could benefit from an implantable hearing solution and refer you to a specialist clinic if necessary.

Step 2:
Preliminary assessment and consultation

The clinic will use their professional assessment and expertise to determine if an implant is right for you, and which type. In most cases the cost of an implant will be covered by the NHS or other health insurance and the clinic will be able to advise you.

Step 3:
Receiving an implant

In the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, there are around 150 clinics that specialize in implantable hearing systems. Surgery is a well established procedure and requires only a short time in hospital.

Step 4:
Switch-on

This is the moment you have been waiting for. After a healing period, the audiologist will switch on your hearing implant. How well you will hear right away will vary from person to person, depending on the length and degree of your hearing loss. It will take time and practice for the quality of sound to improve. Support is available to help you.
